We've decided to continue.

We have decided to keep this blog, so even when we move to mobile, this hotinsanantonio url will be the one to use should you be interested in the goings on in Ethanville. This will be the last post before we leave for Mobile at which point I'm not sure when we will have internet up and running, but it shouldn't be too long. I promise.

Anyway, although hot, this summer has been good. We now have three teeth and more on the way, and Ethan will be crawling on hands and knees any day (though that hasn't stopped him from getting where he wants/needs to go). TROUBLE is his middle name, and we're loving it!

Send us your updates!
Love,
Angela, Jesse and Ethan

Infant Seat Mourning

Whoever invented the travel system for infants is a GENIUS, but he/she needs to figure out what to do when our infant/toddler graduates to a real car seat. Oh, how we mourn for his car seat/carrier. Don't get me wrong, Ethan LOVES his new car seat. It comes complete with memory foam padding for his ever-so-precious behind, but the days of 'oh, he fell asleep in the car? That's ok. We can just take the car seat with us.' are OVER! boo hoo! :(

Here are some random picures of Ethan this past week. 'Baby and Me' swim class & Sweet Potatoes (num).

We crashed that town, and now we're back!

I LOVE Ice Bat! Thanks, Aunt Kristin!

infant marmocets.

...for a few weeks anyway.
So.. We did everything we set out to do in Mobile! We landed me a job as drama/math teacher at Murphy High School (still a little confused as to that which is going on there, but it should be fun regardless). We won't mention the run-a-round Alabama State is putting me through with their testing program. Basically, they want me to take 4 tests ( roughly $500 worth) because they aren't accepting my NY State tests. Well, I haven't given up that battle yet; a little "New York" goes a long way down there. We got a house near the university and my school (and there's a little park with a brand new playground LITERALLY a block away), and we found a childcare situation at a Montessori School nearby with which Jesse and I feel good. I think we must have looked at about 10 facilities, and I wouldn't put our cat Sylvia in the first few. We were beginning to stress out until we found this option, and I think it'll be good. We wanted to find something with some sort of enrichment program (as much as one could get at 8 months) hoping Ethan could get something from it as well.

Happy Fourth of July! I wish you all yummy cookouts and spectacular fireworks!
