Cold Days in Austin!

We went from 80 degree and sunny November days to 40 degree and rainy November days. Luckily, we are seeing the mercury rise again!!!!

All is going great here! We managed to find indoor things to do. Ethan saw his FIRST movie. IMAX 3-D of THE POLAR EXPRESS. Quite a cute way to get into the holiday spirit for those who haven't seen it! When we ask if he liked it, he says, "MOE" (more). I think that was a success!




Milestones:
*He is becoming even MORE communicative by expanding his vocabulary and he has begun to put words together. He is moving beyond his single word commands.
*He counts TWO objects by pointing to them and saying, "ONE, TWO!" He has pretty much dropped "TCHEE" (three) for now. He has been more interested in counting 2 objects. We are working on 3 though.
*He has become quite a shape expert now.
*He still gets a lot of his colors right, but has to think hard about it, and sometimes he confuses certain colors.

The other day Ethan was playing with one of his kitties (they look identical). I asked which kitty he was playing with. He took a moment to study the collar and replied, "Layla!" Later, while he played with Witch Hazel, I asked which kitty he was playing with (wanted to see if there was a coincidence). Again, he studied the collar and replied "Hadol!" (Hazel) I don't know that we ever explained to him that you can tell them apart by the color of their collars. It amazes me how aware he can be.
He also occasionally refers to his daddy by name. "Jeh-She"

Ethan also understands the "Made in China" plight. He expressed his want for a certain truck at the store. I checked the back as always, but before I could say anything, he matter-of-factly spouted "Tsina!" (China) and shrugged his shoulders without a fuss.

Pioneer Farms

Home of "The Biscuit Brothers!" Seriously, this is where they film!!!! We had a great time!!! Anyone visiting Austin should come here!!!!






Milestones:
*When going shopping, Ethan has decided that everything "pink" should be purchased for his friend Ella!!!
*Due to his love of the moon, Ethan is considering the possibility of becoming a "Not Not!" That among other things... like a trash man, or a construction worker... or the train engineer!!!

ahhhh... so many decisions.

WANNIT

We attended the Texas Book Festival this weekend. It was quite good! ..a free event in downtown Austin with A LOT to do!

Milestones:
*Ethan will tell you that his favorite color is YELLOW and his favorite food is PIZZA.
*When asked how old he is, he will proclaim, "TWO!" quite proudly while holding up all his fingers.
*He can identify simple shapes when he feels like it.
*He says "WANNIT" (want it) to just about EVERYTHING. (This is a habbit mom is trying to break!)

Discovering Candy!

For those of you who don't know, Ethan was an "Ah-Int," aka Elephant, for Hallween! We started the day with a party at Library Storytime, continued to a neighborhood, evening festival and finished with some "Trick-or-Treating" in down our street!!!! It was great fun, and Ethan LOVES candy.

We had a great time visiting with everyone in Memphis. We're still trying to get over all of the excitement! :)
